I am a multimedia artist. I work with many different mediums including installations, printmaking, collage, and painting. I am fascinated by found objects and like to incorporate them in my work. My inspiration comes from nature and my love of travel.
Previously, I had a 400 square feet studio in Arlington Heights for 15 years. In July 2023, I had to vacate the space as the building was being converted to apartments. Since then, all of my material has been in storage and I work from my dining room, which I converted into a makeshift studio. I had to change the way I work due to lack of space and now I paint small, acrylic, mixed media paintings. If I am able to get a studio at the Umbrella Arts Center, I plan to start working on larger mixed media pieces, blending acrylic with collage on large wooden boards.
I live in Arlington, MA and a commute to Concord would be short and easy. I love what i do and I work almost every day, often for the full day. If I get a studio at the Umbrella Arts Center, I plan to work in my studio the same way, when weather permits it.
When I visited the space a few months ago, I was very impressed with what I saw. The magnificent, well-lit, private studios are a perfect space for me to create my art. I also loved the gallery and the communal spaces, including a space for having lunch and the kitchen. I am eager to once again be part of an artist community, and being able to participate in the Open Studios is a huge bonus for me. I look forward to getting to know the community and in the future attending artist meetings to better understand where I can contribute.
